Overview
- Please verify you are using the most current permit form available by downloading the permit application form on this page.
- Building permit applications must include all necessary scaled drawings, engineering details, site plans, etc. Incomplete submittals cannot be processed until all required items are received.
- Drawings should be submitted in 11 inches by 17 inches format. Smaller formats are acceptable if they are legible.
- Prior to submitting, please verify your Village of Jackson address on the Washington County Treasurer Tax Page.
- Enter your address like this: N123W45678 OR 1234 (Do not use spaces.)
Please note: Permits must be submitted prior to commencing any work.
In cases of emergency work, the permit must be submitted the following business day. When possible, please notify the Inspection Department of emergency work.
Penalty fees apply for permits obtained after the fact.
General permits are usually processed within 1 to 5 days.
Permits for new construction and remodeling are usually processed within 5 to 10 days however, additional time may be required depending on staff workload.

- Credit Card payments may be made over the phone once a permit Number has been issued). Additional processing fees apply.
