Dog and cat licenses are issued at the Jackson Municipal Complex. Forms are available at the Administration Office or on the Village website under Permits and Forms on the Clerk's page. Dogs and cats 5 months of age or older are required to be licensed, and a Rabies Vaccination Report must be presented with payment. The report will contain the manufacturer’s name, the serial or lot number, as well as the expiration of the vaccine. Dog licenses are $10 per pet for spayed or neutered/$15 unaltered; And cats are $7 per pet for spayed or neutered/$10 for unaltered. Licenses are valid from January 1 to December 31 each year, and registration for the next year begins in mid-December when tags are received from Washington County. If the rabies vaccine expires later in the year, you may still license your pet if the vaccine is valid at the time of licensing. Please license your pet no later than the end of January. A late fee of $10 per pet will be assessed after March 31. New residents, or residents with new pets, will not be charged a late fee if licensing is timely. Per Village code, no person may keep, harbor, shelter or possess, at any time, more than three dogs and two cats over the age of 5 months at any residence. Please direct any questions to the Village Clerk at 262-677-9001.
