Employment

The Jackson Fire Department is staffed by 5 full-time personnel who are on duty for a rotating 48/96hour schedule, in addition to during normal business hours. The remainder of the fire/rescue staffing is performed by community members that respond from their homes and places of business when paged for an emergency, as paid-on-call members.

The total staffing of the department is 48 members, but there are normally a number of openings. Community members are encouraged join our team and to apply for open positions. Please visit the department during business hours if you wish to learn about being a paid-on-call member.

If you wish to apply, please visit the Village of Jackson's employment opportunities page. For paid on call positions, experience is not required, and employer sponsored training is available. In addition, high school diploma and a residence within three (3) miles of the station are necessary to be considered for Paid on Call positions. For all other positions, refer to the employment opportunities page.
