Update 01/28/26 - Progress has temporarily been halted due to the frigid temperatures, which interfere with material placement. Watch for work to pick up once temperatures increase.
Update 01/19/26 - Crews are expected to complete the remaining tree removal in the park by the end of January. They have cut in most of the paths and should have them mulched and ready for use by mid-February. Work will, however, pause mid-February until spring. We encourage you to enjoy the new paths and park during this time. Crews will return in spring to install fencing and a concrete walkway at the entrance of the park. Call 262-677-9665 with questions.
Update 12/3/25 - Work has begun on the Dog Park at Cedar Run Park. Crews have been busy removing dead trees and getting the site prepared. Through the remainder of the year into January residents can expect construction to include tree removal and trail cutting. The trails and paths are expected to be completed by the end of January, weather permitting. Once trail work is complete, work will be paused until spring for fence installation and concrete work.
On Tuesday, August 12, the Village Board approved the recommendation to award the bid for the Cedar Run Park Dog Park Project to Lowe Underground Inc. in the amount of $217,614.10. MSA will oversee the project as the engineer on site. Next steps will be to hold a pre-construction meeting once final permitting with the DNR is approved. Construction is expected to begin this fall, and full completion is expected in June of 2026. Site selection work concluded in 2024 with a recommendation to repurpose the existing Cedar Run Park for two reasons, the Village already owned the site and would be able to conservatively invest in fencing and some trail additions without the cost burden of purchasing new land.
